Technology Transfer: From University Research to Economic Impact

A presentation by our ACE Fellow, Andreas Savakis, who is Professor of Computer Engineering at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Andreas joined the Provost Office for the fall semester as part of the ACE Fellows Program. Dr. Savakis recently completed his second term as department head of Computer Engineering, having served in that role for over ten years.

The American Council on Education (ACE) Fellows Program, established in 1965, offers individualized, accelerated learning that advances leadership readiness while building institutional capacity. Dr. Savakis is among 50 college and university senior faculty and administrators who were selected this year in a national competition.

ACE Fellows spend an extended period of time on another campus. Each ACE Fellow will focus on an issue of concern to their nominating institution while spending all or part of the next academic year working with a college or university president and other senior officers at a host institution. They take on special projects and assignments while under the mentorship of a team of experienced administrators. The Fellows are included in the highest level of decision making while participating in administrative activities and learning about an issue of benefit to RIT.

Please join us in attending Dr. Savakis presentation.
